RQHBA 2018 Futurity Results

Weanlings sold through the RQHBA sale are eligible for show in the Don Brunner Memorial yearling halter futurity, held during the Central States Fair AQHA show, and are also eligible to show as a 2 and 3 year old in the ranch horse futurity held the day of sale.


The  2018 Yearling Futurity Winners are:

Yearling Mare:

First Place: Boons Quixote Miss, owner Cecile O'Neil and Mailloux Quarter Horses.


Yearling Stallion:

1. Boonys Skeets, owner Tom and Sonya Coolahan and bred by Shield Five Qurter Horses.

2. Oles Duallin Cat, owner Sarah Moreland and bred by Shield Five Quarter Horses.


Yearling Gelding:

1. Driften Yellow Jack, owner Sonya Coolahan and bred by Bender Ranch.

2. YO Baboom, owner Jim Whitcher and bred by Merrill Ranch.

3. Smokes Driften Dude, owner Aspen Larmer and bred by Mailoux Quarter Horses.


Each class winner was the recipient of a check for $600. Second place paid $300 and third place paid $100.


2 and 3 year Ranch Horse Futurity winners:

2 year old Champion: Harlans Yamani, riden by Becky Amio and owned by Richard Welsh bred by Hancock Maxon Quarter Horses.

2nd: YO Settea Streak, owned by Ashely Secrest and bred by Merrill Ranch.

3rd: Flash Sugar Bars, owned by Jesse Carlson.


3 year old Champion: Charcoal Freckles, owned by Ryan Smith bred by Joan Johnson Quarter Horses.

2nd: Wheeling Dakota owned by Louise Hollaway and bred by mailloux Quarter Horses.

3rd: Harlans Red Fox, ridden/owned by Becky Amio and bred by Hancock Maxon Quarter Horses.


3 places were paid in each age division with a total purse of $2675.
