The 11th annual Ranchers’ Quarter Horse Breeders Association Sale was held at the Seven  Down Arena on Sunday, August 28th. The sale day began at 9am with the 2nd Annual RQHBA Ranch Horse Futurity. Two and Three Year Old horses purchased through the RQHBA competed for a $600 purse sponsored by The Wrangler Horse & Rodeo News.  Contestants had to perform a basic ranch obstacle course and reining pattern.  Taking Top Honors was Paul Greimsman riding Gotta Dandy Vandy, a 3 yr old mare sired by Gotta Sweet Leo / owned by Judy Philips of WY and bred by Gary and Deb Mailloux of Mailloux QH. They received $300 and a Champion Buckle sponsored by Tri-State Livestock News.

Reserve Champion: Tivs Hired Hand - ridden by Rhonda Matt / owned by Cliff Matt / bred by Chad and Mindy Hubert- H Open 6 QH, receiving  $200 and a hay bag sponsored by DeTye Vet Supply
3rd Place: Moon Jet Classic - owned by Jason Reed / bred by Glen and Janet Long-Long QH,  winning $100 and a gift certificate to FMG Feeds.

Prior to the sale, Winners of the Don Brunner Memorial/RQHBA $2500 Yearling Futurity were presented with their cash awards ($2500 purse sponsored by Black Hills Riding Club, Sally O’Malley’s, RCQHA and Pizza Ranch of Sturgis):
