Our program
is based on concentrating on what we like in a horse: Conformation - Horses that have
good feet, short cannons, straight legs, solid well-muscled bodies with deep heart girths, big hips and
well-balanced heads.
Ability - Horses that can go
to the arena or work on the ranch with lots of athleticism and natural cow.
Disposition - Horses that are
bred to have willing, kind attitudes so that rider can get along with them and are a pleasure to ride on the trail
or at home.

We are located just outside of Scenic, South Dakota, on the edge of Badlands National Park. Our brood mares are the heart of our program and we strive to keep a small, consistent band of mares. We have looked to the past and sought out mares that carry the lines of the two great mares Dixie Beach and Lady Coolidge. Most of our early mares came out of the dispersal of Don Stearns’ breeding program. Our current broodmare band is built on those original mares and the addition of mares carrying the blood of Harlan, Roan Wolf and, more recently, Cee Booger Red and Oklahoma Fuel. They produce the kind of horse you want to use and the quality to be competitive. We are proud of them. Stop by to see them anytime – we welcome visitors. Tom, Mary and Reva Junyang.
Our stallions are:
Jacks Firery Roan by Zan Parr Jack. “Snack” is a powerful athlete and a kind individual. He is a pre-potent sire, passing his ability and disposition on to his offspring. His colts are being used for roping, working cow horse and ranch work and we continue to get wonderful reports from their owners. His sire, Zan Parr Jack, is a leading sire of AQHA performance point earner & world champions, including Bar J Jackie, highest AQHA performance point earning mare to date. He himself earned Sup. Calf Roping, Sup. Heading, Sup. Heeling & 5 AQHA world championships.
Big Honey Harlan is 25% Harlan with 6 crosses to Dixie Beach, 2 crosses to Lady Coolidge and 2 crosses to Little Sue. His dam, Harlanders Holly is a daughter of the great calf-horse sire, Harlander and was hauled as a PRCA level calf horse for many years. “Big Honey’s” half sister, Toponas Jewel, earned her AQHA Performance ROM for us in Heeling, Barrels and Poles. Harlander sired AQHA Halter and Perf.pt earners (961.5 pts) in Open, Amateur and Youth competition. He also sired 4 AQHA Champions, 13 Perf. ROM earners and 4 Superior Performance horses. Harlan sired 17 AQHA Champions, one World Champion, 13 Superior Halter and Performance horses and 51 ROM earners. He was AQHA’s premier get of sire winner in 1965 and 1966 and remains an all-time leading sire of AQHA Champions and Arena ROM Qualifiers. |
